Keep in mind that most insurance companies look at a claim and try to find a way not to cover it. Insurance companies are in business to make money and some insurance companies are much easier than others when it comes to filing claims.

Step four. Before you accept the policy makes sure that the policy does not have written in to it after market parts or like kind and quality parts.

If that wording is in the policy you are not going to get new parts from the manufacture and if you have an accident and you may have problems with your car after it has been fixed. After market parts will also reduce the value of your car.

Step five. Check the financial strength ratings for any company that you are considering.

Here is where you can find customer complaints. Any auto insurance company that has many customer complaints tends to be a company that is very difficult to deal with if you have an accident. Most complaints are in reference to how a company handles its customers during a claim.
