3. Once you have secured your loan call all of the credit card companies and ask them if they will take a reduced payoff to settle the debt. Most of them will but you may have to let your payments get behind for a couple of months to do this.
4. Now take the money you have saved on the reduction in settlements and immediately use it to pay down the balance of your consolidation loan.
5. Make your normal payment plus extra on the balance and in no time at all you will be out of debt.
