Q 1. How often should check my credit score?
Jimmy says everyone should check your credit score is three times per year, which you can do free with the three different credit growth. This will monitor any activity on your report, which could be caused if somebody would steal your identity, and take out loans using your Social Security number and type your credit for years.
Q 2. Are credit scores also free?
Yes and no. Credit scores are not free from the credit bureaus and they will cost you between three and six dollars for each one of which is a good idea to get because the lending institutions will go by your credit scores.
However you can get them for free if you sign up with one of the agencies that advertise that they are a free credit reporting company and then cancel your subscription within 14 days. If you do that it will not cost you anything and you can get your score for free.
Q 3. How can I get my free credit report?
Go to annual credit report.com to request your credit reports. All you have to do is enter your name, address, Social Security number and date of birth and maybe a couple other questions and you are looking at your credit report within minutes, totally free.
Q 4. How long will I have access to my report?
Your free annual credit report will remain available online to you for 30 days from the time of the request.
