Read this and quickly learn how to start home cleaning business and earn $800-$1,000 per week
This is a great job and which can be done alone while kids are in school and it pays very well. All you need to start is a vacuum cleaner, a catty and some cleaning supplies.
You may need a license and insurance depending on your area.
Low overhead and instant pay. Make sure you get paid every time you clean. Never let people pay you later. Tell them you have bills to pay. You do.
If they cancel you twice, they loose their slot and will be cleaned when you have time.
Rule #1 Never, ever charge by the hour and never, ever tell any customer how long it takes you to clean their house. When asked, Always say it depends on a lot of things, which it does. If people find out how much you are making per hour they will almost always fire you.
Rule #2. No one at home while you clean house. They will time you and figure out how much you are making per hour and fire you.
How to get customers:
Advertise in newspaper. Put sign on side of your car. Use large magnetic sign that can be put on and taken off. Get a smaller sign for the back of your car. The sign will keep your busy. People buy price. Always use “Low Rates”.
(Example of sign, or advertisement)
Patty’s House Cleaning
Low Rates
123-1234
When getting started, park your car with signs on it at grocery store close to a nice neighborhood so people can see your sign between 5 and 6 PM when people are stopping for food after work. Sit in the car with your cell phone.
A 2000 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths should take you (working alone) between 1 hour and 30 min to 2 hours and make you between $60 and $80 depending on the going rate for your area..
Find out what other cleaning services are charging by calling them and then charge $10 less per house until you get busy and then raise your price to match everyone else.
Larger homes, which take more time, mean more money.
Try to not give a price over the phone. If they insist on a price over the phone tell them what your going rate is for their size of house but do not make a commitment to clean it until you can see it and meet the people.
Tell people “My prices are low and I do the work myself but I need to met you and see your house”. People will like the idea that you do the work yourself.
If you do windows, charge extra, many house cleaners do not and for a good reason. It’s hard work.
Do not run errands, make beds, do dishes, pick up things or do laundry.
Take only nice houses that people take of. Turn down the real dirty, messy houses because these are bad jobs and will wear you out.
Deep cleaning where you move everything is not the norm. This is special and should cost much more. Do not let people use you to do deep cleaning at regular prices.
Starting a home cleaning business is easy and you can do it with very little money. Mary and I did this when we first came to Florida and within a couple of months were making $700-$900 per week and were home every day by 2 PM.
