Job interview advice – The Basics

By admin

Take some basic job interview advice usless you happen to be a professional job hunter. I know people who will interview at least once a month and that is not always a bad idea as long as it is discreet.

The interview is a discussion between the hiring manager and the person who is applying for the job.

Dress nice and appropriately. Ladies, do not wear revealing clothes.

The worst thing you can do during interview is asked the hiring manager what does this company do and what I’d be doing if I get hired.

Do not mention sick days or vacation time.

When preparing for an interview find out as much as you possibly can about the company. Go to their website and find out all about the different divisions, locations and everything they do. Learn bout their products and about their services. Learn as much as you possibly can about the management structure and especially the department that you would be working in. Be ready with facts and figures about their sales and above all, be prepared to tell the hiring manager what you can do to increase sales or productivity, or lower costs at that company.

When applying for any position, the more you know about the company where you are interviewing the better chance you have of getting the job.

The most important thing to do at the end of the interview is if you want the job tell the hiring manager that you would like to have the job. Simply say, I like what you are doing here and I would like to have this job. If you hire me I will make you glad and I will totally support your vision for this department.

Try this and just see what happens.

They will hire you over more qualified people every time.

Jimmy says, Hiring managers, in the back of their mind, are looking for people who want to work for their company, not just someone who is looking for a job. They won’t know that unless you tell them.

Whoa Jimmy?
