Covenant of Wealth

Posted by: | Comments (4)

Deuteronomy8:18 but you shall remember the Lord your God: for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as it is this day.

The word established, as used in this verse means to continue, when translated into Hebrew. God gives us power, or ability to get wealth because he made a covenant with our fathers and wealth is part of the covenant. Jesus told us in Luke chapter 13 verse 10 to verse 16 that healing is also part of the covenant.

The word wealth, as translated in this verse means plenteous in goods. And if you don’t mind me saying so what this really means in God’s covenant is for us to have plenty of good stuff. Now don’t get crazy on me that doesn’t necessarily mean that God wants everyone to be a millionaire but it does mean that God wants us to have nice things. I realize that people have a hard time with this but as you read through the Bible you will discover that God’s Word shows that it is his will for us to be prosperous. God never wants us to be poor.

The Devine Exchange

Posted by: | Comments (1)

Second Corinthians 8:9 for you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that you, through His poverty might be rich.

This is part of the divine exchange. The other two parts are second Corinthians 5:21 where Jesus took our sin so that we could become the righteousness of God through him. And, 1 Peter 2:24  Is talking about Jesus, by whose stripes you were healed.

The divine exchange covers salvation, healing, and financial prosperity. Many people, unfortunately, will accept salvation and rejected healing and financial prosperity, which God has also provided for us. God wants only the best for us in every area of our lives and has provided a way for us to have it. Step number one, is to understand and except what God’s will is for us.

God’s Definition of Prosperity

God definition of prosperity

In 2 Corinthians 9:8 the Bible tells us and God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you will always have all sufficiency in all things and may abound to every good work.

This is God’s definition of prosperity. Enough money to pay all of our bills and money left over to give to every good work. People need to have more than enough money if they are going to give money to the church, give money to the poor and to fund the evangelist who is out there reaching the lost. Many people say as long as I have enough money to pay my bills I’m happy. Maybe they are, but if they just have enough money to pay their bills they are not going to be a financial blessing to anyone else. I enjoy having extra money to give to other people and to help the poor.

Abundant Life!

John 10:10 Jesus said the thief comes to steal kill and to destroy I am come that they might have  a more abundant life.

If you have a concordance look up the word abundantly. It means abundance or super abundance. Jesus came that we might have life and have it in abundance. People have trouble believing that God actually wants us to live an abundant life. This means plenty of money to live on and good health. I heard someone say a couple weeks ago that God needs us to be prosperous. It takes money to preach the Gospel, it takes money to keep the lights on in the church, it takes money to buy television time to broadcast the Gospel into the Moslem countries, it takes money to help the poor, it takes money to support the orphanages, it takes money to educate our children and it takes money to pay the preacher who brings God’s Word to us. The more money that is available the more you can do these things. God wants us to expand his kingdom and in order to expand God’s kingdom we must live an abundant life ourselves.
