The Prosperous Soul

By

3 John 2 beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.

 Prosperity begins in the soul.

Here is the secret to becoming prosperous in the kingdom of God. The word soul in this verse, as translated from the Greek means spirit and mind. In other words you must prosper in your spirit and in your mind before you prosper in your bank account. Another way of putting this is that is when you prosper in your soul your bank account will follow.

How do I prosper my soul?

The answer that question is that you prosper your soul by filling it with God’s Word. The more of God’s Word that you hear the more prospers your soul will become.

A prosperous soul is a kingdom mentality

A person with a kingdom mentality is a person who understands that God is our heavenly father and we are children of the King and as such are not supposed to be poor or sick. A person with a kingdom mentality believes that they are supposed to be prosperous, that they are supposed to have enough money to pay their bills and money left over to help the poor and for every good work.

Your financial breakthrough begins in your soul.

The key in this verse he is at the end and it says, “even as your soul prospers”. The more of God’s Word that you hear on His provision the more your soul is going to prosper and in turn your bank account will follow.

How can I tell if my soul is prospering?

Because you’re thinking and your attitude will change. Jewish people, for the most part have a prosperous soul and that is why that as a group they are prospers people. They believe they are supposed to be prosperous and they are. A person with a prosperous soul will believe that they are supposed to be prosperous. Years ago I used to hear people say in sales meetings your attitude determine your altitude and that is so true.

A prosperous soul is an excited soul

When your soul is prosperous and your level of faith as high you become excited because you are anticipating the blessings of God. A person who is not excited about the things of God is a person who has no faith in God’s ability or desire to give them good things.

Jimmy says; I am always excited about the things of God because I know that every day is going to be better than the day before and every year is going to be better than the year before in every way. I know that God is going to provide all of my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Whoa Jimmy?

Pastor Jim has preached about the “source” of our prosperity. God works through people to get us the things we need to prosper and further the kingdom, but remember what happened to Moses when he was disobedient and took credit for God’s works. Deut. 7:17-18 reminds us to always give the glory, and credit to God! Our prosperity is for His glory and he does take pleasure in our prosperity!!! Focus on furthering the Kingdom, and bringing glory to God, and you are certain to prosper and be in good health, and ALL your needs will be provided.
